Local Provenance and Seed Collection
Where local provenance is important, trained staff use FloraBank methods to collect native seed directly from the surrounding area. Collecting and propagating local seed helps maintain the genetic characteristics of native plant populations and supports the re-establishment of vegetation that is well suited to local soils, climate and environmental conditions.
